The Grand Theatre is calling on London’s musical talent to take the stage for their spring show, Neptune Theatre’s East Coast Kitchen Party.
London-based or -affiliated solo artists, duos and trios are urged to audition, a paid opportunity made possible by London Music Office and Tourism London support celebrating the city’s designation as a UNESCO City of Music last year.
The show, running on the Grand Theatre’s Spriet Stage April 18 to May 6, is billed in press materials as a “concert celebration set in a kitchen where the instruments come out and friends start to play some of the best music the East Coast has to offer.”
“As a London Proud organization, we are thrilled to invite local musicians to apply to be an integral and exciting part of the final production of our season: East Coast Kitchen Party,” Grand artistic director Dennis Garnhum said.
“Whether a folk trio, a rock band, a reggae artist, a pop group, or something else completely, we look forward to receiving applications, celebrating local talent, and welcoming an incredible lineup of new and familiar musicians.”
To be considered, interested artists must complete a two-step application process by Jan. 6. First, they should create a London Music Office profile at londonmusicoffice.com/artists-profile. Next, they should complete an East Coast Kitchen Party application form, found at forms.gle/gNpqabWrtuBmjXSY6.
A review panel will evaluate the applications before selecting 18 musicians/groups from a variety of genres. Applicants will be notified by mid-January. Selected musicians will join the cast for one performance day to play a 15-minute set on stage per show and another 30-minute set in the Drewlo Lounge afterwards.
